Also, there are variations in its coating specifically for these pakoras.  firstly, in this recipe, i have thickly coated the paneer cubes with masala powder before coating and frying.alternatively, you can sandwich 2 paneer cubes with green chutney, tomato sauce or spice powder followed by coating and frying.

Ingredients for marination: 

  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder 
  • ¾ tsp chaat masala 
  • 1 tsp kasoori methi / dry fenugreek leaves 
  • ¼ tsp salt 
  • 9 cubes paneer / cottage cheese (cubed)

For gram flour batter:

  • 3/4 cup Gram floor
  • 2 tbsp rice flour 
  • ¼ tsp turmeric 
  • ¼ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • ¼ tsp hing
  • ¼ tsp chaat masala
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup water
  • Oil (for frying)

Instruction


firstly, in a large mixing bowl take 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, ½ tsp red chili powder, ¼ tsp chaat masala, 1 tsp kasoori methi and ¼ tsp salt. Mix well to make a paste. Now add cubes paneer and gently cover the paneer with the masala paste. Keep aside
  • further, prepare gram flour batter by taking 
  • ¾ cup gram flour and 2 tbsp rice flour in a mixing bowl.also add ¼ tsp turmeric, ¼ tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp hing, ¼ tsp chaat masala and ¼ tsp salt.

Mix all the ingredients well. Add ½ cup water and make a smooth batter. Make a smooth batter without any lumps. Also, add a pinch of baking soda and mix gently. Don't mix too much.Dip the spiced paneer into the prepared gram flour batter and coat it completely.
  • Also, deep fry in hot oil. Stir occasionally and fry on both sides. further, fry them till they turn golden brown. finally, paneer pakora is ready to serve.
