Ingredients :

  • 1 cup white peas
  • 1 medium size potato
  • 2 tbsp oil ½ tsp
  • mustard seeds
  • pinch asafoetida
  • 1 finely chopped
  • green chilli 1 tsp
  • ginger-garlic
  • paste 2 tbsp
  • green coriander
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder + ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder ½ tsp
  • garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • coriander-cumin powder 1 tsp
  • lemon juice
  • salt to taste
  • while serving chaat
  • Green coriander - half a small bowl (chopped)
  • Sweet chutney - half a small bowl
  • Green Chutney - l small bowl
  • Curd - 1 bowl (beaten) Spice

Method :

  •  Wash peas and soak them in water overnight. 
  • Take the peas out of the water, put them in the cooker, add baking soda, salt and water twice the quantity of peas. 
  • Close the cooker and put the peas on the fire to boil, after one whistle cook on low flame for 3-4 minutes, turn off the gas.
  • Put oil in the pan and heat it. 
  • Add cumin and let it roast, add turmeric powder, coriander powder, green chilies, ginger and red chilies and fry it lightly, 
  • now add a bowl of boiled water (water as required) and sourness to this spice, cook for 4-5 minutes on low flame. . 
  • Adjust the amount of salt and sourness according to your taste. Ragda is ready.
Boil and peel the potatoes, 
  • soak the bread slices in water, mash the potatoes and bread and mix them. 
  • Add salt and knead the mixture like a dough. 
  • Heat a non-stick pan or griddle, add some oil, take out a little mixture from the mixture, make a round shape with your hand, flatten it by placing it on your palm, and fry in less oil (shallow fry) till it turns brown on both sides
    Put 2 patties in a plate, add a big spoon of ragda, add green chutney and sweet chutney over it, if you like curd then add beaten curd, garnish with chopped coriander, and add chaat masala to enhance the taste. You can also put besan sev over it for taste. If you eat onion, then cut it and put it. Your Ragda Petis is ready, eat it and don't forget to tell how is the chaat?
