 Lauki ke Kofte:Most people shrink their nose after hearing the name of bottle gourd and immediately refuse to eat it, but bottle gourd is very beneficial for health. If you want to feed bottle gourd to children or those family members who do not like it, then today you can make bottle gourd koftas for dinner. Surely they will eat this dish on demand. You can serve gourd koftas with rice or roti. Making this dish is also easy. Know its recipe



Ingredients

  • Grated half kg bottle gourd 
  • half cup gram flour 
  • 2-3 finely chopped green chilies 
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste 
  • finely chopped 2 tomatoes 1 finely chopped onion 
  • 1 tsp red chili powder 
  • 1 tsp chaat masala 
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  •  Half teaspoon turmeric powder
  •  ½ tsp garam masala 
  • 5-6 tsp finely chopped coriander 
  • salt to taste 
  • Oil 
  • Asafoetida 
  • 1 teaspoon cumin

Method to make Lauki Kofta

  • To make bottle gourd kofta, 
  • first wash and peel the bottle gourd. 
  • Wash again after peeling and grate in a vessel. 
  • Add finely chopped green chilies to it. 
  • Mix ginger paste, half teaspoon red chili powder, half teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon green coriander, half teaspoon chaat masala, gram flour and salt.
  •  Keep this mixture covered for 5-7 minutes. 
  • Till then finely chop tomatoes, green chillies and onions for curry.
  • Now take a pan or wok and put oil in it and heat it. 
  • Pour the kofta mixture little by little with the help of a spoon or by hand and make dumplings. 
  • After this, put some oil in a pan.
  •  Fry asafoetida, cumin and bay leaves in it. 
  • Add onions and green chillies to it and fry them. 
  • When the onions turn golden brown, 
  • add tomatoes to it and fry and let it cook. 
  • You can add curd after whipping it. 
  • This gives good texture and taste, but then add less tomatoes.Add turmeric, red chili, coriander powder and chaat masala to it. 
  • Let the gravy thicken. You can also add milk or cream to it. 
  • Now put gourd dumplings i.e. koftas in it and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Add garam masala over it and also add finely chopped coriander.
  •  Now serve it with rice or roti.
